The latest update from Cover Genius;
Turkish Airlines has renewed its partnership with Cover Genius, the global Insurtech for embedded protection, extending a collaboration that will power the airline’s next phase of growth in travel insurance across international markets. The renewed agreement builds on a shared vision to evolve embedded protection from a transactional add-on into a strategic, customer-centric ancillary.
Over the next phase of the partnership, Turkish Airlines plans to expand its Cover Genius protection offering into new markets including Australia and Latin America. It will also introduce tailored protection options in the US and EU designed to address the needs of different passenger segments, and broaden its protection inventory with products that respond to varying passenger needs and regional travel demands.
The decision to renew follows strong performance since the partnership first launched in 2023. What began as a domestic deployment has scaled to 57 countries, demonstrating the ability of Cover Genius’ embedded insurance platform to support rapid international expansion. The programme has also delivered sustained growth. Turkish Airlines recorded approximately x3 their organic growth in Gross Written Premium (GWP) since the partnership began.
Since launch, Turkish Airlines has seen a 37% increase in Net Promoter Score (NPS) associated with protection and achieved over the past six months significantly above average NPS industry norms. Claims performance has also proven a key differentiator, with nearly three quarters of all claims paid within five days of being raised.
The partnership has continued to evolve beyond the initial booking flow, with new protection channels launched across “Manage My Booking” and standalone options for offline and staff travel bookings, extending access while maintaining a consistent customer experience.
Angus McDonald, CEO and co-founder of Cover Genius, said: “What excites me most about airlines is the sheer scale of impact they have on consumers, and Turkish Airlines exemplifies that, serving more countries than any other airline in the world. Our partnership focuses on using that reach to facilitate the next level of customer experience. This renewal reflects a shared belief that embedded protection, when designed properly, can scale globally, remove friction for travellers, and deliver meaningful value for passengers and the airline. Turkish Airlines shows what’s possible when protection is treated as a core part of the journey, not an afterthought.”
