Insurance technology partner Open GI and travel insurance MGA, Etc. Insurance, which is led by Ian Rogers and Andy Fairchild, have teamed up to offer fully integrated travel insurance to the UK broker market for the first time.
Delivered via Open GI’s Mobius Policy Administration System, the solution enables brokers to quote, bind and complete medical screening for travel insurance entirely within a single platform. This removes the need for brokers to leave their primary systems or redirect customers to third-party medical screening journeys, significantly reducing friction in the sales process.
Ian Rogers, Managing Director of Etc. Insurance said the partnership addresses a long-standing gap in the market: “The UK travel insurance market has been underserved in the broker and intermediary space for some time, with brokers having to exit their main operating platforms to obtain quotes and complete medical screening.
“By working closely with Open GI, we’ve delivered an integrated solution that removes operational friction and allows brokers to trade travel insurance in the same way they trade other personal lines products.”
All products are backed by A-rated insurer capacity, providing brokers and their customers with long-term security and confidence in claims delivery. The solution has been developed to support a wide range of customer needs while remaining simple for brokers to trade.
The partnership provides brokers with access to a panel of travel insurance products designed specifically for the intermediary market. The panel will support both Single Trip and Annual Multi-Trip policies, alongside cover for activities, cruise and winter sports travel, and flexible geographic regions.
Product features include unlimited emergency medical expenses cover, cancellation cover of up to £10,000 per person, no upper age limit on Single Trip policies, annual trip durations of up to90 days, variable excess options and a broad no change of risk approach for medical conditions, reducing the need for customers to make contact during the policy term.
Additional benefits include End Supplier Failure and/or Natural Disaster protection, integrated and optional Gadget cover with limits up to £3,000, Unique UK medical expenses benefits and access to global emergency medical assistance networks and non-emergency medical services such as Air Doctor.
Nick Giddings, Director of Distribution & Partners, commented: “Being able to offer brokers something genuinely new that combines panel choice with a significantly improved operator and customer experience is extremely exciting. A key differentiator of the solution is the inclusion of fully embedded medical screening within Mobius. Brokers can complete the entire customer journey in one place, without re-keying data or managing multiple systems. Early results have demonstrated meaningful reductions in quote and transaction times, improving efficiency for brokers while delivering a smoother experience for customers.
“The product will be available to new and existing Mobius users and we’re looking forward to developing a wider rollout which will enable more brokers to access travel cover via the Mobius PAS.”
The product has already been tested with select brokers and went live at the end of 2025 in partnership with Adrian Flux, which acted as the initial launch broker.
Gerry Bucke, General Manager at Adrian Flux, said: “We are delighted to be part of the initial launch. This solution not only provides our customers with access to high-quality travel insurance products but also removes significant operational inefficiencies. In some cases, average quote times have been reduced by more than 15 minutes, and we look forward to growing our travel insurance portfolio in partnership with Etc. Insurance and Open GI.”
The travel insurance panel is currently available to selected brokers, with a broader market rollout planned throughout 2026. Brokers interested in exploring the solution should contact their account manager.
