The details on a new partnership;
Samsara Inc. (NYSE: IOT), the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, and Marsh (NYSE: MRSH), a global leader in risk, reinsurance and capital, people and investments, and management consulting, have announced a strategic collaboration that integrates Samsara’s real-time operational data with Marsh’s risk advisory services to help fleet operators across the UK better manage rising insurance costs.
Participating fleets can share real-time driving, incident, and operational data from Samsara with Marsh, enabling risk to be assessed using current performance. The added visibility supports earlier intervention, faster claims notification, and stronger documentation for insurers at renewal.
“We’re excited to work with Marsh to help fleets stay safe and run more efficiently,” said Amit Vyas, Chief Revenue Officer at Samsara. “Through our exclusive agreement in the UK, we’re combining Samsara’s real-time data with Marsh’s risk advisory analytics. This gives customers better visibility into their operations, helps them reduce risk, and ultimately should deliver better insurance outcomes.”
UK fleet insurance premiums have risen sharply over the past few years, prompting UK government scrutiny, with official reviews highlighting vehicle theft, rising claims severity, and inconsistent claims data as key cost drivers. Many insurers are placing greater emphasis on demonstrable risk reduction, timely incident reporting, and verifiable safety performance — opening more opportunities to shift away from reactive claims handling toward continuous, data-driven risk management.
Through Samsara’s API integration, Marsh can incorporate fleet performance data directly into client risk assessments, helping operators build an evidence-based renewal position aligned to their actual exposure. For fleets, this moves insurance conversations from backward-looking claims history to measurable, ongoing safety performance.
By enabling faster reporting and clearer incident evidence, fleets can reduce both claim frequency and severity before renewal pressure escalates. Samsara customers have seen a 30% reduction in claims frequency and a 27% decrease in personal injury claims through in-cab alerts and real-time safety insights—outcomes that materially improve an insurer’s view of fleet risk.
“Marsh is committed to delivering positive outcomes across our clients’ people, risk, and strategic priorities,” said Alistair Brighton, CEO, Corporate & Commercial at Marsh Risk UK. “This collaboration allows us to integrate operational data into our advisory approach, enabling more informed discussions with both clients and insurers.”
