YouGov, the data and research company, has launched support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) – giving clients a powerful new way to connect YouGov data directly into AI-native workflows and agent environments.
MCP is an emerging standard that allows AI applications and agent environments – such as Cursor, Lovable, and Claude Enterprise – to query data sources directly using natural language. For teams building internal AI agents, AI-assisted research tools or data-driven applications dashboards, MCP removes the friction of traditional data access. No need to log into a dashboard, run manual exports or construct API calls. YouGov’s trusted data is available directly in the AI tools and environments where work happens.
The capability is designed for AI engineers, data scientists, model builders and enterprise insights teams who are shaping the next generation of AI-powered products and workflows – and who need the best possible data to fuel them. Ultimately, the systems they build serve a common purpose: to inform better decisions and, increasingly, to predict future outcomes with greater confidence. YouGov’s data, drawn from a continuously maintained global panel of more than 30 million members and is regarded as among the most trusted sources of human attitudinal and behavioural data available.
Data quality is validated by YouGov’s track record in elections. The company uses its data in complex Multi-level Regression and Post-stratification (MRP) methodologies that have enabled YouGov to accurately project election outcomes across the world.
Putting that data directly into AI-native environments means the models and agents being built on top of it start from a position of unmatched quality and reliability.
At launch, MCP access is available for YouGov Profiles and custom research data in YouGov’s Crunch data analysis tool. Integration into YouGov BrandIndex is planned for a future release.

MCP is part of YouGov’s evolving set of data integration options designed to serve a wide range of technical use cases. Clients can access aggregated data – including Profiles, BrandIndex and custom tracker data – via API, or work with respondent-level data exports for modelling, segmentation, marketing mix modelling and data lake use cases. MCP adds a third route: natural language access to YouGov data inside AI tools and agent environments, purpose-built for the way AI-enabled teams work.
