The latest update from ThingCo;
In response to growing demand, telematics insurtech, ThingCo, has renewed its partnership with T-Mobile for five years, solidifying the exclusive agreement with an order for an additional 55,000 SIM chips. ThingCo’s innovative Theo telematics devices feature full worldwide roaming through T-Mobile SIMs delivering 2G and 4G coverage to ensure the devices can support drivers on every journey.
Compact, wireless and solar-powered, Theo fits to the vehicle’s windscreen and helps track journeys, record driving data and provide personalised driving scores. Insurance providers can access essential accurate data from detecting speeding and other high risk driving behaviours as well as tracking mileage and validating class of use. T-Mobile, which has the largest, fastest, most advanced 5G network in the US, also delivers high-speed data in more than 215+ countries and destinations. ThingCo has partnered with T-Mobile since the launch of Theo.
At the front line of road safety for younger drivers, ThingCo enables insurers to track driving behaviour and roll-out intervention campaigns where necessary that demonstrably reduce accident levels.
Martin Williams, Chief Operating Officer at ThingCo said: “Our devices must work 24/7, independent of drivers’ mobile phones or vehicle connectivity, to provide insurers with the most accurate picture possible. It is, therefore, vital that the SIM chips installed in Theo devices provide reliable, global coverage to enable accurate data and resulting risk management.
“We are delighted to have agreed this exclusive new deal with our trusted partner, T-Mobile, and look forward to working together on new products and services as we continue our rapid expansion and launch a new generation of devices later in the year.”
