Jensten is pleased to announce that it has agreed to acquire Venture Risks Group (VRG), a specialist technology-focused corporate broker. Completion is expected in October 2026.
The acquisition further strengthens Jensten’s Tech, Media, Cyber & Life Sciences division, deepening the specialist capability the Group has built across technology, professional indemnity, cyber and related risks within this specialism. VRG has an established reputation advising high-growth and innovation-led businesses and joins a division already serving clients across the UK’s most active technology and life sciences clusters.
The transaction also expands Jensten’s strategic footprint within this specialism into Cambridge, alongside London, Bristol, Thames Valley and Birmingham, giving the division coverage across the principal technology and life sciences corridors in the UK.
As part of Jensten, VRG will continue to trade under the VRG brand and its clients will continue to receive the high levels of service and expertise they have come to expect, while benefiting from access to the wider resources, insurer relationships and specialist capabilities available across the Group.
The transaction aligns closely with Jensten’s M&A strategy of partnering with high-quality, entrepreneurial businesses that complement its existing operations, deepen sector expertise and create long-term value for clients. The acquisition also enhances the scale and capabilities of Jensten’s specialist commercial proposition and supports the Group’s continued growth ambitions across the UK.
Gareth Birch, CEO of Broking, Jensten Group, said:
“Specialty is a core part of our growth plan and VRG is exactly the kind of business we want to partner with. Technically strong, entrepreneurial and built on long-standing client relationships. It adds real depth to our Tech, Media, Cyber & Life Sciences division and strengthens the proposition we can take to clients right across the Group. We are looking forward to working with John, Chris and the team.”
Martin Swann, MD Jensten London Markets & Specialty, added:
“VRG has built an excellent reputation in its chosen markets and brings a highly talented team with a strong client-first culture. The acquisition strengthens our presence in Cambridge, London, Bristol, Thames Valley and Birmingham and adds further strength to our specialist capabilities. We are delighted to welcome Chris, John and the team to Jensten.”
John McLaren-Stewart, CEO, Venture Risks Group, added:
“Joining Jensten is an exciting next step for our business. We have built VRG around specialist knowledge, strong client relationships and a commitment to excellent service. Becoming part of Jensten provides a fantastic platform for future growth while ensuring our clients continue to receive the expertise and support they value, from the same team they deal with today.”
