CHUBB
Following Sean Ringsted’s appointment as Chief Scientist and Executive Vice President, Chubb Group, Chubb Limited (NYSE: CB) today announced two additional leadership appointments in its Digital Business organization, effective immediately.
Johan Oosthuizen has been named Global Head of Digital Business. In this capacity, he will have executive responsibility for all aspects of the digital business globally. This includes the acquisition and performance of partnerships across Chubb’s digital business, and the deployment of approved products.
Johan brings extensive experience to this role, having most recently served as Global Digital Chief Technology Officer, where he led Chubb’s global digital technology strategy and drove the company’s digital business growth aspirations. He has more than 20 years of experience in digital transformation and innovation and has been instrumental in building Chubb’s embedded insurance and digital partnership capabilities.
Additionally, Gabriel Lazaro has been named Global Head of Digital Growth & Strategic Consumer Partnerships. Gabriel will be responsible for Chubb’s partnership relationships, including a shared vision and strategies for growth across digital platforms, technology companies and emerging ecosystems.
The role will identify and shape new growth opportunities and invigorate existing relationships across P&C and Life, working across Chubb Overseas General and North America addressing evolving customer needs and creating value for both Chubb and its partners. Gabriel will report to Paul McNamee and to Johan Oosthuizen in the spirit of partnership.
DARAG
DARAG Group (“DARAG” or “the Group”), a leading legacy acquirer, today announces the appointment of Paul Martin as non-executive senior group actuarial adviser, reinforcing DARAG’s actuarial, risk and capital expertise as the Group continues to grow.
Martin brings more than 35 years of experience across the London insurance and actuarial markets. Since 2015, he has held a number of senior non-executive positions, including at Lancashire Syndicates, Aspen Insurance UK and IGI. Martin previously served as Catlin’s group chief actuary, and later group chief risk officer, leading a global team of actuaries, risk professionals, catastrophe modellers and financial market specialists. Earlier in his career, Martin worked at Tillinghast, Sturge and EY, where he was part of the team that established the firm’s property and casualty actuarial consulting practice.
HF
HF, leading legal advisors to the insurance and commercial sectors, are ramping up the expansion of their London Market & Specialty teams. Three key appointments have seen Mark Meyer, Graham Ludlam and Phillip Carney join as Partners with in-depth technical expertise and broad commercial insight.
Their skills span complex liability, specialty risk, high value insurance disputes and reinsurance and their arrival significantly strengthens HF’s services to insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, brokers and corporate clients.
These key appointments help underpin HF’s continuing strategy of growth based on a combination of highly skilled technical expertise, a client-focused approach and innovative, industry-leading technology.

SAPIENS
Sapiens International Corporation N.V. (“Sapiens”) has announced two new appointments to its leadership team, ahead of the company’s Customer Summit, Ignite, in Nashville, Tennessee, next month. The appointment of Nazir Esmail as Chief Autonomous Enterprise Officer (CAEO) and Maggie Fox as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) mark a significant expansion of Sapiens’ executive bench as the company builds for the future.
Nazir Esmail joins Sapiens on Monday, 21 September, as Sapiens’ first Chief Autonomous Enterprise Officer.
In this newly created role, Esmail will lead the enterprise foundations that enable Sapiens to work safely and effectively with AI and autonomous technologies. This brings together the technology, data, systems and security capabilities that underpin the business. Esmail has more than 25 years of global technology and transformation leadership experience. He joins from SoftwareOne, where he was Chief Information Officer and Digital Transformation Officer, leading the company’s global technology organisation and transformation agenda. His experience spans enterprise platforms, data, AI, cybersecurity and large-scale transformation.
Maggie Fox will join Sapiens later this year as its new Chief Marketing Officer.
Fox brings extensive global marketing, digital and leadership experience. A two-time CMO and start-up founder, and formerly Global SVP of Digital Marketing at SAP, she is known for building brands, businesses and high-performing teams. Her most recent role was SVP, Portfolio & Digital Marketing at AVEVA.

ENVELOP

Envelop Risk (“Envelop”), the data-driven cyber reinsurance and analytics specialist, today announces the appointment of Stuart Dale as global head of casualty, effective 24th September 2026.
Dale will be responsible for delivering the company’s global casualty reinsurance strategy, including product development and portfolio growth, reporting to Dominic Peters, CEO, Envelop Underwriting. Chris Baddeley will become global head of cyber while continuing as active underwriter for Syndicate 1925. Both will work closely with Michael Murdoch-Smith, EVP head of cyber Bermuda, alongside the Envelop Underwriting and Labs teams, to deliver Envelop’s casualty proposition.
With almost 30 years of casualty and specialty treaty reinsurance experience, Dale will drive Envelop’s expanded proposition, further solidifying its market position. He joins from Volante Syndicate 1699 where he served as deputy active underwriter. During his extensive Lloyd’s and international reinsurance career, Dale has held numerous senior roles, including head of casualty treaty at both ArgoGlobal and Westfield Specialty.
LIBERTY SPECIALTY
Liberty Specialty Markets (Liberty), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, today announced the appointment of Tressie Norton – Supercoverholders Underwriting Manager – reporting to, Stephen Tompson, Head of Supercoverholders, Delegated Authority Practice, based in London.
Norton recently joined Liberty Specialty Markets where she will oversee strategic partnerships and support the continued development of financial lines and transactional risk capabilities. Norton previously spent over 17 years at Chubb and recently returned to London from Singapore. She is a recognized insurance leader with an established London market foundation and extensive experience across specialty and financial lines, underwriting governance and complex risk leadership. Norton has a legal background and experience in claims and litigation and 20+ years of global insurance experience.
MAPFRE RE

Mapfre Re has appointed Benoit Goureau as the new director of its Brussels Management Center, a position he will hold under the coordination of Mark Meyerhoff, Regional Director for EMEA. The appointment was approved earlier this month by the company’s Management Committee, taking effect 15 September 2026.
Benoit Goureau joined Mapfre Re’s Paris Management Center in June 2024 as a Reinsurance Underwriter in Non-Life Treaty/Claims Underwriting. Since April 2025, he has served as Senior Reinsurance Underwriter, a position he held until his new appointment.
Goureau brings more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, with a strong track record in reinsurance underwriting and client and broker management, having held senior leadership positions at leading companies in the industry.
INSURANCE ADVISORY

Insurance Advisory Partners, the investment bank focused exclusively on the insurance, insurance services and the insurtech industry, today announces the appointment of Matthew Morris as Partner in its New York office, effective immediately.
Morris will leverage his extensive industry experience to advise insurance industry clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, strategic transactions and other corporate finance initiatives, helping them pursue opportunities for growth and value creation.
Morris brings more than three decades of insurance and investment banking experience to IAP, having held senior leadership roles across respected financial institutions and insurance companies. Most recently, he served as Managing Director, Insurance Group, Wells Fargo, where he led client coverage across the property and casualty insurance sector and advised on a broad range of M&A, IPO, debt financing and corporate banking transactions.
PRICE BAILEY
Price Bailey has appointed experienced corporate finance specialist Philip Olagunju as Partner in its Strategy and Corporate Finance team, further strengthening the firm’s offering across East Anglia, London and the Home Counties.
Philip joins Price Bailey following almost a decade at PEM, where he was Partner and Head of Corporate Finance. He brings more than 20 years of corporate finance experience, having previously held M&A advisory roles at RSM and BDO, as well as spending time in industry as a Finance Director.
Following graduation from Loughborough University, Philip began his career working across the East Midlands, before moving to London and later advising businesses across the Milton Keynes, Home Counties and London markets. In his previous roles, Philip has acted as lead on a wide range of transactions, company valuations, and strategic advisory projects.
MARKEL

Markel Insurance, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc. (NYSE: MKL), has appointed Greg O’Neill as their Head of Construction Underwriting, UK, with the responsibility of leading and developing their construction proposition within the UK market.
O’Neill joins from Pen Underwriting, where he was UK Technical Underwriting Manager and one of the founding members that started the regional construction book from scratch in 2014. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in UK construction underwriting to Markel, in both insurer and MGA environments.

CANOPIUS GROUP
Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, has announced the appointments of Richard Adamczyk as Senior Claims Manager, ANZ, Louise Wai as Head of Property D&F, APAC and Jack Hullah as Head of Credit and Political Risk, APAC, further strengthening its underwriting and claims capabilities across Asia Pacific.
Richard joins Canopius on 28 September and is based in Melbourne. He joins from the Legal Practitioners’ Liability Committee, where he served as Head of Claims. Prior to that, Richard spent 15 years with AIG, most recently as Head of Financial Lines Claims, Pacific. Bringing extensive experience across the legal and insurance sectors, Richard will play a key role in advancing Canopius’ claims capability and support brokers, coverholders and insureds across ANZ and the wider APAC region.
Based in Singapore, Louise joins Canopius on 1 November from Helvetia Swiss Insurance Company Ltd (Singapore Branch), where she last served as Underwriting Manager, Engineering and Property Solutions, Asia. With more than 25 years of experience across the region, she is widely recognised for building profitable portfolios, developing strong market relationships and driving underwriting excellence.
Also based in Singapore, Jack joins Canopius on 10 November from AXA XL, where he most recently served as Regional Product Lead for Asia Credit & Political Risk. He brings more than 15 years of experience spanning credit strategy and trading, political risk and credit insurance, structured finance and regional business development, with a strong track record of leading teams and delivering profitable growth across international markets.
HOWDEN

Howden, the global insurance broker, today announces the appointment of Peter Murphy as Chief Operating Officer of Howden Employee Benefits (HEB). The appointment is effective 1 September 2026.
Murphy has served as Chief Operating Officer of Howden’s Employee Benefits division for the past six years. His remit now extends across the enlarged UK business of 2,600 colleagues, bringing together Howden’s existing Employee Benefits team with colleagues from its recent acquisitions including Barnett Waddingham, the employee benefits consultancy arm of Evelyn Partners and Hymans Robertson’s Insurance and Financial Services Consulting Team.
Globally, Howden’s employee benefits division comprises approximately 4,000 experts across 40 countries, with combined revenues exceeding £500 million.
BROWNE JACOBSON

Browne Jacobson has appointed Vicky Tomlinson, Corporate Partner, as Head of Independent Health and Care as the firm continues to strengthen its market-leading offering to organisations operating across the sector.
The UK and Ireland law firm’s independent health and care team of 200-plus lawyers works with clients including private hospitals and clinics, later living, specialist and complex care operators and children’s services organisations, as well as developers, investors and funders.
The team advises on the full range of legal matters affecting independent health and care providers including M&A, finance, regulation, employment, immigration, real estate, commercial contracts, disputes, claims and inquests. Gallagher, the global insurance broking and risk management company, has announced the appointment of Manuel Gómez González to its global multidisciplinary Private Equity and M&A practice (PEMA) practice, as Director of Warranty & Indemnity (W&I), Transaction Solutions, Iberia to further expand the practice’s European presence.
Manuel’s appointment highlights the continued focus by the PEMA practice on building out deep-seated client-focused expertise across the M&A solutions and wider capital advisory space, expanding its geographic footprint to stay close to client communities and strengthening regional resource. Based in Madrid, with an Iberia-wide remit, Manuel will report into Cristina Chaparro Vaquero, Executive Director of PEMA in Iberia.
Manuel brings more than a decade of experience advising corporates and PE funds on complex, high-value M&A transactions across Europe, having worked in tandem with W&I insurance solutions and over the full deal lifecycle including due diligence, structuring and negotiation of purchase agreements. With a background as a corporate and M&A lawyer, Manuel joins from international law firm Squire Patton Boggs where he was Senior M&A Associate, prior to which he spent eight years at legal and tax services firm Garrigues as a Corporate M&A Senior Associate.
ARCH

Arch Insurance International (Arch) today announced the appointment of Gaurav Sharma as Chief Information Officer, effective immediately.
In the role, Sharma leads the execution of Arch’s technology modernisation agenda, ensuring tangible outcomes that support the overall business strategy and growth ambitions. Based in London, he reports to Ketan Motwani, Chief Operating Officer.
Sharma brings more than 25 years of experience in leading technology functions and large-scale transformation. Prior to joining Arch, he was Head of Technology at AXA Health and has previously held senior technology roles at RSA Insurance UK, Zurich Insurance and Aspen Re.
