The word from Copart on their latest vehicle transporter, designed to handle heavier EV vehicles;
Global leader in online vehicle remarketing and recycling, Copart UK, unveiled the VH5 ‘Raptare’, a new addition to its transport fleet developed in partnership with Belle Trailers to help meet the changing demands of vehicle recovery.
Developed together with long-standing partner Belle Trailers, the VH5 ‘Raptare’ reflects the changing demands of vehicle recovery. With more electric vehicles, larger passenger cars, and commercial vans on the UK’s roads, Copart identified the need for a vehicle that could provide the carrying capability required for heavier vehicles, while retaining the flexibility needed to access more challenging recovery locations.
Rather than adapting an existing design, the company worked closely with Belle Trailers to develop a bespoke solution tailored to the needs of its customers and the changing UK car parc. Built on a 26-tonne DAF XD chassis, the VH5 transporter can carry up to five vehicles and has been specifically designed to handle the larger and heavier vehicles that are becoming increasingly common across the UK. At 11 metres in overall length, combined with the latest DAF rear steer system, the vehicle offers enhanced manoeuvrability for locations with restricted access without compromising carrying capability.

“We’re seeing increasing numbers of larger SUVs and vans as well as EVs, which are often heavier than traditional vehicles, and that’s why we’ve worked closely with Belle Trailers to develop what we’ve called the VH5 ‘Raptare’. “It gives us the carrying capability we need for the heavier vehicles we’re seeing on UK roads, while still offering the manoeuvrability our drivers rely on when accessing more challenging locations.

The VH5 is the latest example of Copart UK’s ongoing investment in equipment designed around the realities of modern vehicle recovery and the changing needs of its customers.
