The latest update from Brown & Brown;
Brown & Brown UK has launched a retail graduate programme to develop the next generation of insurance professionals and support its continued investment in regional broking across the UK.
The business has selected 16 graduates following a three-stage recruitment process, culminating in an activity-based assessment centre. The successful graduates will join Brown & Brown offices across seven regions and begin a three-year rotational programme, gaining hands-on experience across account handling, broking, claims, sales, and placement.
Alongside their day-to-day roles, each graduate will complete a graduate apprenticeship, with the aim of achieving ACII qualification within the three-year programme.

The scheme has been designed around Brown & Brown’s decentralised sales and service model, with graduates developing their careers within the regional businesses in which they’re based. Rather than learning about broking from a distance, graduates will work alongside experienced teammates dealing directly with customers, insurers, and the day-to-day challenges faced by businesses in their local markets.
Richard Jennings, Regional Managing Director, Brown & Brown UK, said: “Our regional businesses contain an enormous amount of experience and expertise, but, importantly, they are also where the day-to-day work of broking happens. We want our graduates to be immersed in that environment from the beginning, working alongside teammates, learning from them and gaining practical experience across the full breadth of the profession.
“We are passionate about growing our own talent and giving people the opportunity to build their careers the Brown & Brown way. By combining professional qualifications with three years of practical experience across account handling, broking, claims, sales and placement, we want to give each graduate an exceptionally strong foundation for their career.”
The programme also forms part of Brown & Brown’s wider commitment to investing in its regional broking operational model and ensuring broking expertise continues to be developed locally.
Jennings added: “Regional broking is fundamentally about relationships, local knowledge, and having experienced people who understand the businesses and communities they serve. Developing the next generation of knowledge and capability is therefore hugely important to us.
“We have ambitious plans for the future, and we want these graduates to grow with us, bring fresh perspectives, and play a meaningful role in helping us achieve our goals.”
The 16 graduates will begin their placements across Yorkshire, the North West, the South West, Leicester, Belfast, and the South East this month.
