New Report Looks at Investment in Healthcare Tech

This new report looks at the investment into healthcare technology;

Fundraising in UK healthcare technology businesses looks set to rebounded to near-record levels, as investors back innovation aligned with the NHS’s plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence, data, genomics, robotics and wearable technologies.

New analysis by leading accountancy firm Price Bailey, based on data from Beauhurst, shows investment activity in UK healthcare technology companies has recovered strongly following a slowdown in 2022 and 2023. According to their research, total fundraising values increased by 148% between 2023 and 2024 returning close to the sector’s previous peak recorded in 2021 and remaining at similar levels throughout 2025. Price Bailey goes on to highlight that year to date, fundraising levels in 2026 are already above the amount raised in total in 2023, putting investment in the sector on an upwards trajectory.

The recovery comes as the NHS sets out its ambitions to transform the way healthcare is delivered through its recently published 10-Year Health Plan, with technology identified as part of this transformation. The Plan identifies data, artificial intelligence, genomics, wearables and robotics as the key technologies expected to help transform healthcare delivery over the coming decade. The Government’s strategy also includes wider adoption of AI within clinical pathways, making wearable technology standard in preventative, chronic and post-acute NHS treatment by 2035, expanding the use of surgical robotics and integrating AI into clinical pathways.

According to Price Bailey, the increased public sector support and clearer direction around the future of healthcare delivery is helping restore investor confidence in health technology businesses.

Kirsty Beck, Manager in the Business team and Healthcare sector specialist at Price Bailey, said: “Healthcare technology is increasingly viewed as a growth sector rather than a speculative investment. Investors can see that healthcare systems are facing significant pressures and the advancing role that technology can play in addressing these challenges, especially now the NHS 10-Year Health Plan provides a clearer direction for healthcare reform.

“With the NHS identifying data, AI, genomics, robotics and wearable technologies as key enablers of its wider ambitions to transform healthcare delivery, it sends a strong signal to investors and entrepreneurs about where future opportunities are likely to emerge.”

The findings form part of Price Bailey’s latest analysis of the UK healthcare technology sector, which examines fundraising trends, investment activity and emerging growth opportunities across the industry.
