The Insurtech Group includes Easy Insurance, After Sales Europe, Insurtech Services and Repair Management GmbH. Repair management you ask? Yes, of course, because repairs of consumer goods, from smartphones to battery watches, electric bicycles to washing machines, is something that the EU will almost certainly regulate and encourage with tax incentives in the next few years. Retailers will need to make sure that repairs are carried out by authorised third party suppliers, or trained staff in-house, and arrange commercial/business cover as regards liability in case a repaired item malfunctions.

That political mindset of refurbished goods, and professional product repair, rather than sending something to landfill, is a green initiative that means more opportunity for insurance brokers, MGAs and underwriters alike.
