Cover Genius, one of the world’s fastest growing insurance distribution platforms, has announced the hiring of Nelson Castellanos, as its Strategic Partnerships Director, EMEA – Retail. Nelson will oversee the company’s new and existing partnerships with the largest retail brands across Europe. This appointment follows the recent Series B funding, which raised $10 million to support the company’s investment in talent and its continued global growth across the UK, the US and into Asia.
Nelson brings with him extensive experience in consultancy, business development and relationship management across various industries. His background will enable him to further the company’s unique offerings for online retailers. These include XCover, its customer centric insurance and warranty solution, which is available across 60+ countries and 50 US states, as well as its leading instant claim payments service, XClaim, that pays approved claims in real time, via bank transfer, store credit, virtual prepaid card and credit card top-up in more than 90 currencies.
A native Spanish speaker, Nelson was previously responsible for the Iberian market at global warranty and protection plan provider, Square Trade, and building on his existing experience and knowledge, worked with a number of leading retail companies including Amazon and MediaMarkt. In addition to spending over two years at leading technology and digital transformation consultancy, Capgemini, Nelson expanded his experience into the logistics sector, working with global supply chain business, XPO Logistics.
