There’s life in the High Street yet, according to A-Plan Insurance,who had the Mayor of Preston round recently to open their new branch in the city centre. A-Plan has around 90 branches around the UK, keeping the faith with bricks and mortar premises while many brokers choose the online route to market.
Joe Petherwick (Branch Manager at A-Plan) told the local media:
“We like to be where people can access us easily and where we have an opportunity to engage with local businesses and residents and really become part of the community. Preston is a great location for A-Plan and being from Preston myself, I feel proud to play a part in the city’s vibrant economy.”
Businesses in Preston, and indeed everywhere, have been on a roller coaster ride in the last few months and have had to react quickly at every turn. As the city adapts to ‘the new normal’, A-Plan is keen to support the high street at a time where more vulnerable members of the community may struggle with online journeys or lengthy call waiting times in the current climate.”
Bridge Insurance has signed up to use the Trade Cover Exchange platform. The online platform allows businesses to get credit insurance quotes from multiple insurers for a single invoice.
The car insurance specialist did some research recently and found that in West Yorkshire, there are 2.58 uninsured drivers per 1,000 people, which is 77% higher than the average rate for England and Wales (1.59 drivers per 1,000 people).
Police in the region cited 5,991 drivers for operating their vehicles without insurance last year, down from 6,999 the year before. Bedfordshire was in second place when it came to uninsured drivers.

A UK business website reports that Viddyoze is exapnding its headcount, as it works with Sony, Tesla and a NW based insurance broker.
David Chamberlain, who founded Viddyoze in 2015 with Jamie Garside and Joey Xoto, told the website;
“It’s an exciting time for the company and the new enterprise solution will open up new markets to us,”
“We recently ran a campaign for a North West insurance broker to around 20,000 clients where we sent out renewal notices by SMS and email incorporating personalised videos, which resulted in a 15 per cent jump in renewal conversion rates.”
Definitely worth trying something different from the usual spam template email reminder we reckon.
