The 10 insurtechs showcase the pinnacle of the UK’s innovation and expertise in the field, pioneering ground-breaking technology with the aim of establishing and expanding business relationships between the UK and the US.

The delegation will also attend the world’s largest insurtech conference, the InsureTech Connect ITC Global virtual conference from 19th October to 21st October, as part of the UK DIT delegation.

Acting Consul General to San Francisco and Head of US Tech Policy Mary-Eve McNerney said:

“The importance of investing in technology designed to modernise the insurance industry is increasingly vital, and the coronavirus epidemic has underlined that for us all.

The UK is a global leader in the insurtech space. We are delighted to have McKenzie Intelligence Services participating in this year’s virtual trade mission which will connect them with other leading start-ups who are putting this innovation at the forefront.”

Forbes McKenzie, Chief Executive and Founder of MIS, said:

“We are really looking forward to taking part in the prestigious DIT Virtual Insurtech Trade Mission, taking place against the backdrop of the unprecedented global pandemic challenge, and one of the busiest hurricane seasons we have seen in recent years.

Since 2016, MIS has exclusively been the geospatial imagery and intelligence provider for Lloyd’s, its managing agents, TPAs and partners, providing access to invaluable exposure management and claims data following global events via the award-winning MIS-Intel Portal.

We have also partnered with the European Space Agency to develop and deliver a Global Event Observer for the insurance industry.

We are delighted to have this opportunity to showcase our expertise to the US market, where we already enjoy strong relationships. In particular, the opportunity to pitch to US investors is very exciting – MIS has demonstrated time and again the unparalleled real-time data and insights we can bring to risk and exposure management decision making, and we certainly look forward to showcasing this further during the trade mission.”
