BIBA Is Back: Show Preview Special Part One

OK, so BIBA is back live and in-person, let’s take a look at what’s new.

PRODUCTS & LAUNCHES

Zurich

“Already this year we’ve improved our eTrading capabilities, have enhanced our fleet proposition to include EV cover for small fleets as well as larger fleets, we’ve expanded our regional presence by opening a new East Anglia office, Will Edwards has been appointed as the new Head of SME, our HNW claims proposition has gone from strength to strength and we have continued to diversify our personal lines business to open up wider trading conversations with our broker partners.”

Hiscox

Hiscox are promoting Professional Indemnity Cover this year and IE thinks this is ideal in a world of ever-growing influencers, You Tubers, brand ambassadors, TikTokkers and other assorted characters who make a precarious living online. They need cover, in case one careless tweet gets them cancelled, or facing legal action. It’s a growing niche market for brokers, so let’s build products that do the job.

LexisNexis

Broker Intelligence has been upgraded during the pandemic, with more data touchpoints and deeper insights. What does that mean for brokers? Simple really, you can only price risks accurately if you have a 360 view of your customer and LexisNexis have added features like past cancellations of cover, LexID, email addresses used and more to give brokers a much better picture of who they are covering at the point of new quote, or renewal.

As the FCA regulations kick in on loyalty discounts, knowledge really is power, since you can offer the best discounts to drivers who have the data trail that proves their worth. LexisNexis Risk Solutions are near the entrance by the way, on Stand E8.

Aviva

As one of the big names you would expect Aviva are ready to offer brokers timely advice on pricing risk in a hard market – and finding coverage for those bespoke risks and niche customers. Here’s the word;

“Join the Hard Market Seminar on Wednesday at 11.15am with Marc Lewis, Aviva Chief Underwriting Officer Commercial Lines Business. The panel will discuss the important roles brokers and insurers play in supporting businesses through this period of prolonged rate hardening and cover restrictions. Hear how Aviva is upping our regional and digital underwriting capability to support this.”

Close Brothers Premium Finance

Two new software tools, Foresight and Focus 360 offer brokers useful data in the motor and Commercial sectors respectively. Demo slots are available. Stand D30 is where you can learn more.

Jackson Lee Underwriting

Over on Stand B50 JLU will be showcasing the latest additions to their GAP cover product, which is increasingly useful these days as more people rent their lifestyle rather than own it.

Axa

You can talk with AXA about their recent acquisition of the renewal rights to Ageas’s commercial business and how they’re progressing with its migration to AXA. Plus they are going big on broker schemes, hard market advice and e-trade, which is a suite of eight digital products aimed at pro drivers, medical surgeries, landlords and SMEs. Stand E40.

LEGAL

Carpenters are on Stand F24 and keen to talk about their circle of services which can help brokers, especially as part of the claims process. A fully branded claims handling option is there for brokers who want to offer customers support at the FNOL.

Law firm DWF bought Zing365 last year, so you can find out more about claims compliance, and DWF’s EvoSuite software.

Weightmans LLP is providing a speaker at the Thursday seminar on ESG, which is worth your time if you want to partner up as a broker with other companies. Reporting rules from the FCA and EU are likely to increase in the future, so you need to tick those green boxes to make the right supplier connections, or source cover from ESG compliant panel insurers, legal providers, repairers etc. More on that BIBA seminar here.

SOCIAL CLUB

There is a social side to BIBA too, so here’s a few snippets we received in the Inbox lately;

Open GI is a specialist insurance software provider and they are hosting a drinks reception on Wednesday 11 May where you will be able to enjoy a handmade cocktail or two, whilst meeting the Open GI team in-person. Need a fuel boost on Thursday morning? Then don’t forget to pop by their stand for breakfast, coffee.

Aston Lark Schemes & Facilities are hosting some cocktails mixing malarkey, plus you can win a luxury 5 star hotel break, over on Stand B28, plus they have wrapped up all kinds of broker placement advice in one software package. here’s the word;

Peter Blanc, Aston Lark Group CEO, said: “Over 1,300 brokers currently partner with Aston Lark to access our specialist schemes or for help with challenging placements. Many of those brokers only partner with us on one or two product lines, so our focus is on raising awareness of our full range of capabilities and making sure it is as easy as possible for brokers to work with us. We are excited to be returning to Manchester after the enforced break and can’t wait to see as many broking friends as possible.”

City Life has an AfterBIBA Party on the 11th which is at Blvd in Spinningfields. More details here.

More BIBA Preview features coming soon.
