Niche commercial insurer Peach Pi has partnered with specialist broker Activity Business Cover (ABC) to provide capacity for a scheme tailored for its sport and leisure book of business. The scheme covers a variety of activity, fitness and sport business risks including personal trainers, gyms, rock climbing, mountaineering and other outdoor team building activities.
This collaboration between Peach Pi and ABC highlights the synergies between the two businesses. Both organisations are committed to working with like-minded insurance professionals to provide flexible, agile cover based on a thorough understanding of an individual customer’s risk profile, number of years trading, professional qualifications and claims history.
Flexibility, speed to market and robust claims were key requirements for ABC when selecting an insurer partner, as well as finding a team with a comprehensive understanding of the sector that would be easy to work with.
ABC Director John Baytas was impressed with Peach Pi’s commitment to go ‘above and beyond’ to provide a product which would meet the level of cover required by this specific book of business. He explained: “Our customers have their own very unique risk profile and require a tailored and flexible scheme to protect their business. Peach Pi was able to provide the flexibility required to address these needs, including appraising and extending re-insurance levels. Peach Pi’s award winning in-house claims team also provided us with the reassurance that any claims our customers do face will be dealt with professionally, promptly and empathetically.”
Commenting on the speed with which Peach Pi was able to turn the scheme around, senior underwriter at Peach Pi, Jordan Cammack, said: “At Peach Pi we are not restrained by bureaucratic processes. Our agile and flexible approach to underwriting and risk management enabled us to weigh up liability risk exposure and make quick and informed decisions on cover issues in a timely manner.”
This new partnership between Peach Pi and ABC was first identified at the MGAA 2021 Conference. MGAA’s CEO Michael Keating is delighted that the Association provides a platform for such collaboration between insurers and the intermediary market. “It is a great endorsement to hear that the MGAA plays an intrinsic role in bringing members together to collaborate on initiatives that will better protect UK businesses.”
