Skyline Partners Ltd., the inventive insurTech that creates parametric solutions to a wide variety of insurability challenges, has been selected as one of the InsurTech 100, which recognises the world’s most innovative insurTech companies.

Skyline creates and delivers specialised parametric products which pay policyholders based on the occurrence of specific events such as temperature or rainfall, rather than on measured property damage. This approach dramatically simplifies the claims process, eliminates the need for claims adjusting, and allows insurance to cover intangible losses.

“This is a real honour, and worthy recognition of the innovative work we and other parametrics companies are doing to change the nature of insurance,” said Laurent Sabatié, Skyline Partners Co-Founder and Executive Director. “Parametric insurance products are new, and promise a radical change to the way businesses are insured. Claims under traditional insurance policies require physical loss or damage to trigger a claim, but not all losses involve a fire, windstorm, or another physical loss.

A heatwave can stifle crop yield, for example. Event-driven insurance provides relief. We at Skyline are extremely pleased that FinTech Global has recognised Skyline and the potential which parametric covers hold to change the insurance business by creating useful products for the 21st century.”
