MoneySuperMarket Becomes MONY, Partners Up With AutoTrader

This is a big deal, as two online giants become one as regards a strategic partnership. By working together AutoTrader and MoneySuperMarket can develop so many crossover opportunities on car leasing, insurance products, app downloads, automated savings plans, Life cover and more. Then there’s the shared data aspect which unlocks much more granular lifestyle information, preferences and spending patterns.

Here’s the official statement;

REBRANDING MONEYSUPERMARKET

The Group will change the corporate holding company name from Moneysupermarket.com Group plc to MONY Group plc, with effect from 20 May 2024.

This change reflects how the Group has evolved in recent years to become the UK’s leading listed tech-based savings platform, supporting not only its own well-trusted brands, MoneySuperMarket, MoneySavingExpert and Quidco, but also those of leading third-party businesses. This expansion beyond the original price comparison website means being named after just one of our consumer brands no longer represents the extent of the business today.

There will be no changes to the consumer facing brands or their websites.

The new corporate Group name MONY is also the Group’s existing stock market ticker, which will be retained as will its ISIN and LEI.

The change of name will not affect any rights of shareholders and existing share certificates will remain valid. Share certificates issued from 20 May 2024 will bear the new name, MONY Group plc.

To reflect the Company’s new name, the Company’s corporate website address will be changed to http://www.monygroup.com with effect from 9.00 a.m. (BST) on 20 May 2024.

MoneySuperMarket has today announced a new strategic partnership with the UK’s largest automotive marketplace, Auto Trader. The partnership brings two of the UK’s leading technology companies together, with the goal of making it easier for consumers across the UK to find the best value insurance for their new vehicle.

Consumers looking for their next car, van or bike on Auto Trader will now be able to easily compare insurance quotes on their chosen vehicles through the new integration with MoneySuperMarket.

MoneySuperMarket is part of Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC, a tech-led savings platform for helping households save money. Its scalable platform powers comparison technology for the Group’s consumer facing brands as well as for other leading UK digital brands, with nine partners added over the past year. Sara Newell, Director of Insurance at MoneySuperMarket, said: “The cost of insurance is a key factor when you’re choosing a car, so we’re delighted to be Auto Trader’s new price comparison partner, helping more drivers find the right insurance at the best price.

“The seamless integration of MoneySuperMarket’s price comparison technology with Auto Trader’s selection of vehicles means drivers can easily choose their new car, and see all the information they need and the most competitive insurance prices in just a few clicks.”
