The latest from PrismaLife, who are fully embracing the Net Zero agenda when it comes to investing Life premiums;
PrismaLife AG has achieved the highest rating of 9.5 points out of a possible 10 points in Zielke’s PAI rating. The life insurance company from Liechtenstein reported one of the most comprehensively on the material negative effects of investment decisions on sustainability criteria (Principle Adverse Impacts, PAI). Analyst Carsten Zielke examined a total of 57 life insurance companies with regard to the transparency of their sustainability reporting in the reference year 2022 and assessed compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the EU’s climate targets and Article 7 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFRD).
“We are very proud of the excellent rating of PrismaLife in the PAI industry comparison. Increasing regulation makes reporting complex, but we welcome the increasing clarity of the requirements with regard to sustainability standards,” says Holger Beitz, CEO of PrismaLife AG. “For investors, transparency is an essential key to taking sustainability aspects into account in their investment decisions.”
Although 93 percent of all life insurers reported the significant negative impact of their investment decisions on sustainability criteria, only 40 percent did so comprehensively. Of the 57 life insurance companies surveyed, only 16 providers received the Gold label (8 to 10 points) based on their scores in the categories of disclosure quality, climate, environment, and social and governance. Of these, only two insurers achieved the highest score of 9.5 points. 18 companies received the silver label, nine companies bronze. A further 14 life insurers failed to meet the minimum score of 5 points.
