GALLAGHER

Gallagher has appointed Lisa Bartlett as Managing Director of its Birmingham office, which is one of its largest regional hubs, and part of its extensive UK wide office network.
In her new role, Lisa will lead the Birmingham based broking team of over 150 risk professionals, which alongside supporting local businesses in the region with their risk and insurance needs, also has specialist teams based in the office looking after manufacturing, real estate, charity, construction and cyber risk management clients across the UK.
Lisa has over 25 years of experience in broking and risk management, and has previously held senior roles at AXA, Willis Towers Watson and Aon. She joins from Crawford & Company where most recently she was Chief Operating Officer for the firm’s international operations & President, UK & Ireland. At Crawford, Lisa was responsible for a team of 1,500 people and was instrumental in driving growth, enhancing operational efficiency and developing new market propositions. Lisa’s prior experience, and strong regional connections, makes her well placed to lead Gallagher’s Birmingham office in its next chapter of growth.
SPROUT.AI

Sprout.ai, the most intelligent claims automation platform for the insurance industry, announces the appointment of Ian Thompson as the first member of its growth advisory board, effective immediately.
Thompson will bolster Sprout.ai’s ambitions to promote innovation in the insurance industry while delivering a better experience for insurance customers. Thompson played a leading role in Zurich’s global operations, where he championed AI, digitalisation and data innovation. His expertise also extends to customer proposition shaping and delivery, making him well-placed to advise on the issues of insurers and their customers. Thompson will be an immediate asset in shaping Sprout.ai’s strategic product direction and go-to-market strategy while supporting business opportunities in the insurance market.
Thompson joins with 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including more than 20 years in senior leadership roles. Most recently, Thompson was the Group Chief Claims Officer at Zurich, where he was responsible for the performance of 8,500 people operating across 200 territories dealing with 7.5 million claims per annum. Before this, he held Regional Chief Claims Officer roles at Zurich covering Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as operational and strategic transformation roles at RSA.

MARSH

Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor and a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE:MMC), has announced that Will Thomas-Ferrand, International Practice Leader, Marsh Captive Solutions, will assume leadership of Marsh’s captive insurance business on January 1, 2025. In this role, Mr. Thomas-Ferrand will report to Pat Donnelly, President, Marsh Specialty and Global Placement and remain based in London.
Ellen Charnley, President of Marsh Captive Solutions, will retire at the end of 2024.
A 20-year veteran of the firm, Mr. Thomas-Ferrand has held various roles of responsibility within Marsh’s captive business. Prior to being named to his current role, he led Marsh’s captive business in Malta and previously spent seven years largely working with US clients in Bermuda.
ZEGO

Zego, the commercial and personal lines motor insurer, has announced a significant addition to its board. Stephen Treloar, who is an accomplished and seasoned insurance executive, having previously served as CEO of Allianz PL and LVGI, joins Zego as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
In gaining Treloar as a board member, Zego is set to benefit from the expertise and experience of one of the most accomplished personal lines executives in the insurance industry. With decades of experience leading and innovating insurance offerings, Treloar’s career spans various high-profile roles at Allianz, LV, Aviva and Direct Line.

Amit’s career began at Lloyd’s in 1989, where he held a number of roles in Finance, Regulatory and Market Development. Notable achievements included negotiating and broadening Lloyd’s market access strategies across Africa, and leading the deployment of Lloyd’s South Africa Ltd, where he served as Managing Director. In 2013, Amit was appointed Lloyd’s Regional Manager for Africa, and most recently held the position of Regional Lloyd’s Head for Africa and Chairman of Lloyd’s South Africa.

Arch Insurance International (Arch) has announced the promotion of Peter Brooks to the position of Global Head of Fine Art & Specie, effective immediately.
In this new role, Brooks will be responsible for managing Arch’s London Market Fine Art & Specie insurance portfolio and working across all of Arch Insurance’s underwriting platforms to expand its global presence in the sector. Based in London, he reports to James Croome, Active Underwriter Syndicate 2012 and Head of Cargo & Specie.
Most recently, Brooks was a Senior Underwriter, Fine Art & Specie at Arch, having joined the company in 2020. He has considerable experience in the specialist sector, having previously held underwriting roles at Liberty Specialty Markets and W/R/B Underwriting.
Commenting on the promotion, Croome said: “Peter is a highly respected figure in the Fine Art & Specie market and his promotion to this newly created role is well deserved.
