HF Invests in Future Talent Via Apprenticeship Scheme

Some good news from HF for you;

Beth Jackson, Solicitor at leading legal advisors to the commercial and insurance sectors, HF, is celebrating her qualification having come through their apprenticeship scheme.

Starting at HF in 2016, as an 18 year-old fresh from A Levels, Beth had intended to have a year gaining work experience and then take up her offers to study law at university, followed by the traditional route to qualifying as a solicitor.

But HF were already at the forefront of legal apprenticeships and offered Beth a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship.  She completed that two-year qualification and then suggested to HF that she could continue onto the 6 year ‘trailblazer’ Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship with BPP.  There was no hesitation, and HF started their first cohort of Level 7 Solicitor Apprentices – including Beth.

Fast forward to September 2025 and, alongside working with a Partner in the Catastrophic & Complex personal injury team, Beth has now achieved a first-class honours degree in law and legal practice and completed her SQE1 and SQE2 exams.

As she waits to receive her practising certificate, Beth said, “In September 2025, I’ve achieved my dream of qualifying as a Solicitor. By taking the apprenticeship route rather than the traditional degree and LPC, I’ve gained many years of on-the-job experience while studying, which helped me enormously in the skills components of my degree and SQE. I was also able to earn a full-time wage and have no student debt.

My advice to anyone considering taking an apprenticeship route to their career is to do it! It takes a lot of hard work, determination and resilience but the payoff is absolutely worth it, and I’m so excited to see what my future brings as a Solicitor at HF!”

Ronan McCann, CEO and Managing Partner of HF commented, “I’ve always been a huge supporter of enabling alternative routes into law, and apprenticeships are a key way to achieve that.  We’ve had legal apprenticeship schemes at HF for ten years now, and I couldn’t be more proud to congratulate Beth Jackson not only on her qualification, which is fantastic news, but also on playing a significant role in driving and demonstrating the value of apprenticeships at HF.”
