The latest from Europcar Mobility Group;
As part of its commitment to helping businesses make the switch to electric fleets, Europcar Mobility Group UK is the Vehicles sponsor for National EV Week, the first dedicated week-long celebration of electric vehicles and the wider EV ecosystem. Hosted by Nineteen Group and EV Café, the campaign will champion vehicle electrification through a series of webinars, articles, interviews, competitions and market insights from key industry figures.
Taking place from 1st to 5th December, the week will bring together fleet operators, installers, OEMs, energy providers and other organisations delivering electrification at scale. As vehicle sector sponsor, Europcar will participate in two webinars, focusing on the current slow take-up of electric vans.
“Europcar has achieved significant advances in the adoption of electric cars amongst corporate users, however, take- up of electric vans is lagging behind,” explained Tom Middleditch, Sustainability spokesperson for Europcar, “We are committed to easing the transition to e-vans for businesses of all sizes and look forward to connecting with the wider industry to share best practice and help accelerate adoption during National EV Week. Rental can provide a real-world test drive of a range of vehicle options, enabling businesses to get an accurate picture of how zero tailpipe emissions can work within their business.”
John Curtis, co-founder of The EV Café, added: “We are excited to launch the National EV Week campaign, aimed at the one million fleet managers, installers and specifiers across the UK. Our goal is to highlight the benefits and opportunities of electrification and tackle real-world challenges like grid management, power availability, and fleet planning. With exclusive input from thought leaders, businesses can get a fresh understanding of what works on the ground and connect with the industry’s biggest players. It is great to have Europcar on board, with its valuable experience of helping businesses take the first steps on making the switch to electric cars and commercial vehicles.”
“National EV Week is an exciting new platform to turn the spotlight on the UK’s journey to electrification, tackling the practical challenges and unlocking opportunities for businesses across the country,” said Mike Costain, Nineteen Group. “Running this December, the digital campaign will bring together expert insight, exclusive content, and powerful voices from across the sector to help businesses cut through the noise and make confident, informed decisions. We’re thrilled to have Europcar as a sponsor. Its hands-on experience supporting fleets through the EV transition, and its commitment to sustainable mobility, make it a perfect partner as we spark industry-wide momentum.”
Helping customers make the switch to electric driving, Europcar is committed to continually increasing the breadth of choice of its zero-emissions fleet including a growing selection of e-vans.
