L&G RETAIL
L&G’s Retail business has appointed Donna Cowell to the newly created role of Head of Reinsurance, UK Protection.
Donna will work across both L&G’s Retail and Group Protection businesses to deliver a joined up and effective reinsurance strategy, reporting into Pippa Keefe, the Commercial Director of Retail Protection. She will play a key role in developing L&G’s protection strategy, collaborating with reinsurers to deliver greater value for customers by leveraging the business’s expert risk management, distribution quality, robust data and market experience.
As a qualified actuary, Donna brings almost 25 years of experience in financial services. She joins L&G from Willis Towers Watson, where she was a Director in its Life Insurance Consulting and Technology division, specialising in protection and reinsurance.
ASPRAY
Aspray, a leading provider of property damage insurance claim management services, is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard O’Flaherty as the new Loss Assessor for the Bristol South region as the company continues to strengthen its service to homeowners and business owners across the region.
With a wealth of experience in the insurance claims sector and a Cert CILA qualification, Richard brings both technical expertise and a deep understanding of the customer experience.
CHO
On the 12th November 2025 Ian Budsworth, Managing Director at Auto Claims Assist, officially joined the Supervisory Board of the Credit Hire Organisation (CHO), the trade body for the UK credit hire industry.
With nearly 30 years of experience across all areas of accident claims management, including claimant, defendant, brokerage, repair and hire, Budsworth is keen to apply this knowledge in helping to shape strategic discussions and supporting the industry’s ongoing evolution.
Being elected to the board marks an exciting step in Budsworth’s career and reflects his commitment to driving progress across the sector.
CHUBB
Chubb Limited (NYSE: CB) today announced that Susan Spivak has been appointed to Senior Vice President of Investor Relations, effective November 17, 2025.
Ms. Spivak brings more than two decades of experience in senior investor relations and equity markets roles. She previously led investor relations at The Hartford, Argo Group International Holdings and Alterra Capital Holdings (formerly Max Capital). Earlier in her career, she served as an equity analyst with Wachovia Securities, ABN Amro, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

WILLIS
Willis, a WTW business (NASDAQ: WTW), has announced the appointment of Louie Clarke as Global Head of Claims Strategy & Execution within the company’s Risk & Broking business.
In this new role, Clarke will be integral to the ongoing evolution and implementation of Willis’ broad array of claims services and solutions for clients across all geographies and specialties.
Based in London, he will join the Global Claims Leadership Team, and will report to Neil Harrison, Global Head of Claims.
“We are delighted to welcome Louie to Willis. This appointment is the latest example of our commitment to claims, a key part of the overall Willis proposition for clients and markets. H&H BROKERS
An account executive with nearly three decades of industry experience has been promoted to Associate Director at a Carlisle-based insurance brokers. Natalie Carr is a long-standing member of the H&H Insurance Brokers (HHIB) team and leads the firm’s Wigton office which is based at the town’s auction mart.
Natalie, who first started working for HHIB in the early 1990s, looks after a wide portfolio of agricultural and farm clients across North and West Cumbria and also specialises in agriculture, forestry and tree surgery.
CORKER BINNING
Corker Binning, the specialist criminal defence and regulatory litigation firm, has hired Priya Dave from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). She joins the firm today as Of Counsel.
Priya spent 10 years as a contentious regulation lawyer at the FCA, where she advised on and litigated complex regulatory and civil enforcement cases – including many high-profile and international matters – before the FCA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee, the Upper Tribunal, the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
She also advised the FCA’s Supervision and Authorisations Divisions on supervisory interventions and contested applications for authorisation, which she litigated at the Upper Tribunal on behalf of the FCA.
ALLIANZ UK
Allianz UK is pleased to welcome Suzanne Scott as it’s Chief People and Culture Officer. Effective from today (17th November), Suzanne will report to Colm Holmes, Allianz UK CEO, and be responsible for leading and shaping the people strategy to ensure the success of the business strategy.
Suzanne has extensive experience and joins Allianz from AXA UK and Ireland where she held the role of Chief People and Corporate Responsibility Officer. Prior to this she worked for companies including RBS/NatWest and Aviva in a variety of senior roles.
SCHRODERS CAPITAL

Schroders Capital, the $111 billion private markets business of Schroders, announces the appointment of Sophie Florentin-Siu as Business Development Director UK, as part of the strategic expansion of its team of private markets sales specialists.
In this newly created role, Sophie will focus on Schroders Capital’s market-leading Private Debt and Credit Alternatives (PDCA) offering in the UK. Her appointment reflects increasing investor demand for diversified private markets strategies across institutional and wealth channels – with private debt and credit alternatives growing in prominence as a source of return opportunities and portfolio income.
Schroders Capital’s PDCA business, co-led by Michelle Russell-Dowe and Stephan Ruoff, oversees some $38bn[1] in assets under management. With more than 100 investment professionals, it focuses on specialisms including real estate debt, infrastructure debt, asset-based finance and insurance-linked securities (ILS).

Allianz Trade, the world leader in trade credit insurance, announces a change in management within its Specialty Credit & Mid Term line of business. William Whittington, previously Head of Region, Specialty Credit & Mid Term at Allianz Trade, becomes Global Head of Specialty Credit & Mid Term at Allianz Trade. He succeeds Christophe White, who has decided to pursue his career outside of the Allianz Group.
William Whittington (34) holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Science from the University of Oxford. He started his career in 2014 at Lloyd’s of London, covering several areas including performance management, emerging risks & research, political risk & structured trade credit. In 2016, he joined Allianz Trade’s political risk & structured trade credit team as an Assistant Underwriter, before becoming Junior Underwriter in 2017, Underwriter in 2018, and Senior Underwriter in 2020. During this time he had experience in international markets including Singapore, Paris and New York. Since 2021, he has been the Head of Region, Specialty Credit & Mid Term at Allianz Trade in London. Today, he has been appointed Global Head of Specialty Credit & Mid Term at Allianz Trade, and will continue to be based in London.
NORTHSTANDARD
NorthStandard has appointed Jack Marriott Smalley as its new Head of Underwriting for Asia Pacific, with effect from 3 November, 2025.
Mr Marriott Smalley brings over 14 years of underwriting experience at NorthStandard to the role, including 11 years in Singapore, most recently serving as Head of Southeast Asia Pacific. His engagement with members, brokers, and partners has been pivotal in strengthening the Club’s presence across the region.
In a key leadership role within NorthStandard, Mr Marriott Smalley will drive strategy to position NorthStandard as the Club of choice in one of the world’s most dynamic marine insurance markets. His focus will be on continuing Club growth across Asia Pacific, on developing talent within the region, and on closer collaboration with members, brokers and joint venture partners.
