Starting the week with the latest appointments news, let’s dive in;
QBE
QBE, the business insurer, has appointed Alistair Nappin as Head of Outward Reinsurance for its International Division.
Alistair joins from Munich Re where he is currently Head of Ceded Reinsurance and Chief Underwriting Officer of Underwriting Strategy for its Global Specialty Insurance division. He brings nearly 20 years of insurance experience to QBE.
In his new role, Alistair will be based in London and report to Stephanie Cryer, Chief Underwriting Officer, QBE International. He will be responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s reinsurance strategy in the UK, Europe and Asia. He joins early next year, subject to regulatory checks.
XPT SPECIALTY

XPT Specialty, a leading wholesale broker for commercial and personal insurance, has announced that Brittany Martinez has joined the firm as Commercial Underwriter/Broker in its Orlando, Florida office. Martinez brings more than 11 years of experience in property and casualty (P&C) insurance, with a background spanning underwriting, account management, and agency relationship management.
At XPT Specialty, Martinez will work with retail agents on the placement of commercial accounts, drawing on her experience in policy analysis, coverage structuring, and carrier negotiations to help them place complex risks for their clients.
Martinez spent more than a decade at Braishfield Associates in Orlando, moving from Client Account Manager to Underwriting Assistant before being promoted to Commercial Lines Underwriter, where she built a substantial book of business managing both new accounts and renewals.
ROKSTONE
Rokstone’s specialist agricultural underwriting business, iFarm Underwriting, and its specialist SME underwriting business, iSure, has strengthened its leadership and underwriting teams with two new appointments and an internal promotion, underlining Rokstone’s continued investment in the businesses following another year of profitable growth.
The two new underwriting appointments support iFarm’s ongoing expansion while ensuring continuity for its broker partners as the business builds on strong momentum.
Adam McWilliams joins iFarm as an Underwriter from NFU Mutual, where he spent the past three years as a Commercial Package Underwriter. He is joined by Gurjot Bagri, who brings four years’ underwriting experience gained with leading insurers including Markel and AXA.
At the same time, Lee Ellis, who has successfully led iFarm and iSure UK since 2022, will move into the newly created role of Digital Prioritisation & Change Lead at Rokstone. The move reflects Rokstone’s continued investment in digital capabilities across its specialty underwriting businesses.
Succeeding Lee as Managing Director of iFarm UK and iSure UK is Shane Mustill, who originally joined the business in 2025 as Head of Distribution. Shane brings more than 14 years’ specialist experience in agricultural underwriting and broker development, having previously held senior roles at Geo Underwriting and other leading insurers.
CANOPIUS GROUP

Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, announces the appointment of Nadine Moore as Chief Executive Officer of its US business.
Nadine will assume leadership of the US business from September 2026, reporting to Group CEO Neil Robertson, and will join the Group Leadership Team to deliver on Canopius’ long-term strategy in the region.
Nadine joins Canopius with deep experience across the US insurance industry. She most recently served as Managing Director and Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group.
Over the course of her career, Nadine has built a strong reputation and network in the industry. She is one of the few leaders in the market who combines the distribution credibility of a placing broker – including producer experience during a senior role at Aon – with a CFO’s understanding of the bottom line, and the operating model discipline of a transformation leader. Nadine also brings significant M&A experience to the role, alongside proven delivery of AI initiatives in a regulated insurance environment.
GALLAGHER

Gallagher, the global insurance broking and risk management company, has announced the appointment of Sarah Dezes to its fast-growing Private Equity and M&A practice (PEMA) as Head of Tax Insurance, France, further extending its footprint of in-country client-focused advisory expertise in one of the fastest growing classes of the insurance market.
Sarah will join Gallagher on 17 August 2026, increasing the PEMA practice’s presence in France and across Europe. Her appointment follows Charles Amblard, who recently joined Gallagher in France as Senior Advisor with a pan-European remit to drive client relationship development and expand the presence of Gallagher within Europe’s private equity and M&A communities in a pre-deal and post-deal value creation context.
Based in Paris, Sarah will lead Gallagher’s tax insurance offering in France, structuring tax insurance solutions for corporates and private capital funds in both M&A and non-transactional contexts. With more than 15 years’ experience advising on tax risk in M&A transactions, she brings a deep understanding of how specific tax exposures are identified, negotiated and structured which will ensure Gallagher is optimally positioned to deploy tax liability insurance solutions, as part of the broader Gallagher PEMA proposition.
ASR

Africa Specialty Risks (“ASR”), the developing markets-focused (re)insurance group, announces the appointment of Yelhis Hernández as Regional Lead, Latin America.
Based in Mexico City, Yelhis will be responsible for developing ASR’s presence and executing ASR’s growth strategy across Latin America. Her remit will focus on building relationships with brokers, clients and strategic partners while deepening the group’s foundations and connections in the region. The appointment reflects ASR’s expansion beyond Africa and the Middle East, supporting its mission to enable sustainable economic development in global growth markets by fulfilling unmet insurance needs.
PRICE FORBES
Price Forbes announces that Darren Ting has been appointed to the role of Managing Director of Real Estate and Heavy Industry – Multinational, effective from June 2027. Ting will be based in London and report to Chris Rider, CEO of Property.
In his new role, Ting will be responsible for leading the development, and build out, of Price Forbes’ new multinational real estate and heavy industry proposition.
Ting brings with him three decades of industry experience. He has held a number of senior roles at several major London brokers including Willis and Aon, most recently holding the role of managing director at A J Gallagher. He has extensive experience building teams and developing their capabilities, making him an ideal fit for this new role.
ARCH INSURANCE

Arch Insurance International (Arch) has announced the promotion of Sophie Law to Cyber Underwriting Manager, effective immediately.
In her new role, Law is responsible for overseeing the underwriting activities across the Cyber portfolio, spanning cyber, tech errors & omissions (E&O) and media E&O across a broad range of territories and sectors. Based in London, she reports to James Barrett, Head of Cyber & Healthcare.
Most recently a Senior Cyber Underwriter, Law brings nearly 13 years of underwriting experience to the role. She joined Arch in 2019, having previously held underwriting roles at Barbican and Hiscox.
MSIG

MSIG Asia, Southeast Asia’s leading general insurer with a growing presence across Asia Pacific, has announced the appointment of Ronak Shah as its Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 October 2026.
Shah succeeds Clemens Philippi, who was appointed Co-Chief Strategy Officer of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings (MS&AD) in April 2026 to lead the Group’s International Business strategy. In addition to leading MSIG Asia’s well-established operations across Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, India and Oceania, Shah will assume regional leadership responsibility for Mainland China, Taiwan and Korea.
This expanded mandate reflects MSIG Asia’s commitment to greater strategic alignment across Asia Pacific, enabling stronger collaboration, enhanced execution and accelerated growth, while delivering greater value to its customers, partners and stakeholders.
QLAIMS LTD

Qlaims Limited announces it has appointed Maisie Burwood as Senior Partnerships Success Manager, a move that forms part of the company’s wider strategy to deepen long-term relationships with brokers and networks.
Maisie joins Qlaims after nine years at Arc Legal Assistance, where she worked within the commercial division. During her tenure, she played a key role in building strong partner relationships and delivering great outcomes for clients and customers alike.
MARKERSTUDY BUSINESS

Markerstudy Business has announced that Rich Morley has joined the team to support the expansion of the dedicated commercial division as Broking Director, reporting into Ross Barrington, Chief Executive Officer (subject to regulatory approval). Rich will be responsible for product development, accessing new markets and supporting the wider business team on development and growth.
Rich has been with the Group for nearly 15 years, leading the niche products within Markerstudy Retail, evidenced by strong growth, whilst maintaining positive customer outcomes, and brings extensive industry knowledge, a strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to identify opportunities that deliver value for customers and the business.

Rob joins with more than 20 years of experience at The AA. Starting in membership sales, he then moved into insurance where he progressed into sales management roles before moving into product leadership, developing extensive expertise in optimising products, enhancing customer outcomes and launching new propositions.
Most recently, as Head of Products and Propositions, Rob led teams responsible for fair value, customer outcomes and new product development across Motor, Home, Travel and Premium Finance, alongside a portfolio of ancillary products including Legal Expenses, Personal Accident, Home Emergency and Excess Protection.
AMPHITRITE
Amphitrite Underwriting London (“Amphitrite”), the specialist marine MGA, today announces the appointment of Jack Thompson as war underwriter, effective immediately. Based in London, Thompson will report to Ben Jones and will support the further development of Amphitrite’s marine war offering, delivering responsive and efficient solutions to support the evolving needs of the marine industry.
Thompson brings more than a decade of experience to his role at Amphitrite, starting his career at Markel where he trained as an underwriter. Most recently, Thompson worked as an underwriter at mutual insurance club UK War Risks. Here, he built the book of business to its largest size to date while establishing strong relationships across the maritime industry.
