Gigasure Passes Landmark 200K Uptake Data on Gigacard

It’s a milestone for Gigacard, here’s the word;

Gigasure, the innovative insurtech specialist, has issued more than 200,000 GigaCard’s since launching the digital initiative in January.

Designed to sit alongside boarding passes and other essential travel documents in a smart wallet, GigaCard gives Gigasure customers quick access to key policy information, contact details and claims support without having to search through emails or navigate lengthy policy documents.

The data shows that 98.2% of customers keep their pass active in their phone’s wallet, with engagement continuing for more than 180 days after creation.

Research* commissioned by Gigasure found that 88% of Brits have experienced difficulties the last time they needed to access their travel insurance documents. The most common frustrations centred around finding and accessing information, with 14.75% feeling stressed or under pressure while trying to find their documents, 14.19% having to search through emails to locate their policy and 10% saying they couldn’t find their policy or documents quickly.

The research also found clear demand for a more accessible approach to insurance, with 33.53% of Brits saying they would like an insurance card on their phone to quickly access policy details while travelling. Almost a third (30.08%) said they would use such a feature to show proof of travel insurance, while 26.39% would like to contact emergency assistance from their travel insurer with one tap.

The volume of downloads shows consumer demand for a simpler, more accessible way to manage insurance while travelling.

Ernesto Suarez, Founder and CEO of Gigasure, said: “GigaCard is helping to address the gap between purchasing cover and being able to access the right information when it is needed. GigaCard removes this friction by storing key policy information in their smartphone wallet where details can be accessed more easily.

“GigaCard further demonstrates our mission to move insurance away from something you buy-and-forget about to a more interactive digital customer experience. The response from our customers has gone beyond simply adopting the technology they are keeping it, returning to it and using it to manage their cover.

“By putting key policy information, support and self-service tools directly into a customer’s digital wallet, we are making insurance more accessible, more interactive and ultimately more useful when it matters.”
