Legal Sector: Principal Insurance Teams Up With Minster Law on Claims

Manchester-based broker Principal Insurance have announced a new three-year partnership with motorbike claims specialists Minster Law and Plantec Assist to provide claims services to the broker’s 40,000 UK customers.

Dave Bowcock, founder and CEO of Principal, said: “The claim experience is the ultimate moment of truth in insurance. We felt there was an under-served need in the biking market and an opportunity for Principal to develop a sector-leading claims proposition. We wanted our customers to have their claims managed by people who really understand biking – across the entire claims process – and to take as much friction as possible out of the journey.”

He added: “In the Plantec/Minster Law partnership, we found two companies both steeped in experience of the biker market and with an unwavering commitment to working in unison to deliver a seamless customer experience. It’s a compelling proposition and we’re delighted to be working with them. It gives Principal a strong point of differentiation in the bike market and we are confident it will further enhance our brand reputation and help build loyalty and confidence amongst the biking community.”

Minster Law will handle personal injury claims while Plantec (which is part of Kindertons Accident Management) will provide FNOL and hire and repair services for Principal’s fault and non-fault customers.

Shirley Woolham, Minster Law CEO, said: ‘We are hugely excited about working with Dave and his team at Principal, and bringing our partnership proposition with Plantec to the market. Bike injuries are often complex, with cases often lasting several years before settlement. As well as delivering specialist legal, medical and rehabilitation services, we are also committed to supporting Principal as they seek to grow their business and increase their share of the motorcycle insurance market’.

Paul Taylor, MD of Plantec, said: “We’re delighted to have extended our relationship with Principal, beyond our specialism in hire & repair into also providing that critical, first-notification-of-loss service. Our partnership with Minster Law has allowed us to develop a total claims proposition for the biking market. Collaboration of this nature is rare in the claims sector and we are all looking forward to working with Principal and supporting their growth aspirations.”
