It is with great pleasure that Service Certainty™ announce the promotion of Richard Eadie to Managing Director from January 1st, 2023, in response to its rapid growth and the strategic plans for its sister business Glasscare®.
Service Certainty™ has been growing consistently since establishment in 2009 and remains at the forefront of digital media capture, storage and sharing across the UK. But it was during the Covid impacted years that the company accelerated diversification into new markets and is now on target for a record financial year, with a presence in numerous markets. At the same time, its sister business Glasscare® Ltd is entering an exciting strategic phase in 2023 requiring a dedicated MD. So, after more than ten years at the helm, and now with specific focus on Glasscare®, Graham Clarke has stepped down from the role in Service Certainty™.

MAXIS GLOBAL BENEFITS
MAXIS Global Benefits Network (MAXIS GBN), the international employee benefits joint venture between MetLife and AXA, has announced that David Schupak will become Director – Global Relationship Management, moving on from his role leading the Western Europe, Middle East and Africa (WEMEA) Business Development (BD) teams. He will continue reporting to Paul Lewis, Chief Business Development Officer at MAXIS GBN.
In his new role, David will oversee MAXIS GBN’s inbound business development strategy (opportunities for MAXIS network members to win and retain business with multinationals that have a MAXIS global programme), manage relationships with both global and regional brokers and intermediaries and work closely with Dr Leena Johns to further develop the global health and wellness business development strategy.
AEOLUS CAPITAL
Aeolus Capital Management Ltd. (“Aeolus”) has announced that Benjamin Somers has been appointed Managing Director of Business Development at Aeolus Services Corp., the US subsidiary of the ACM Group. Mr. Somers will be based in the U.S. and report to Aditya Dutt, Partner and President.
Mr. Somers has nearly 25 years in business development, alternative asset management, debt capital markets and corporate banking. Prior to joining Aeolus, Mr. Somers was a Partner and Head of Business Development & Investor Relations at Elementum Advisors (“Elementum”). During his tenure, he managed Elementum’s business development team, directed capital formation and investor relations and was a member of Elementum’s senior leadership team. Prior to Elementum, Mr. Somers was a Director on the Emerging Markets team at Stark Investments and worked in the asset management and corporate banking departments of JPMorgan and its predecessor firms.
KENYON EMERGENCY SERVICES
Kenyon Emergency Services, part of the global aviation services group Air Partner, a Wheels Up company, has appointed chartered psychologist Dr Mike Rennie as Humanitarian Services Manager.
A specialist in the application of psychology in military and emergency service operations, Dr Mike Rennie has spent 15 years as a Senior Lecturer in Communication and Behavioural Science at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He has mentored global leaders in operational psychology and has held a role as an academic mentor in Kabul at the Afghan National Army Officers Academy. He has been a mental health consultant to fire & rescue services in the UK, and currently holds a position on the leadership team of Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue.
QUESTGATES
Due to continued growth and further highlighting the importance of Scotland as a key region for the loss adjusting firm, QuestGates are delighted to announce the promotion of Ashley Clancy to the role of Client Relationship Manager. Ashley is well placed to take on the newly created role of Client Relationship Manager, having been part of the Glasgow based team for over 4 years and well known to Scottish clients. Working with QuestGates Head of Property Adjusting, Kevin Leake, and Head of Customer Experience, Lucy Collett, Ashley will manage the service delivery to clients across Scotland. Ashley will also continue to handle some claims along with providing assistance and guidance to the Loss Adjusting team as it continues to grow.

ARAG
ARAG has appointed Laura-Jo Howard to the strategically important position of BTE Underwriting Manager. At the end of last year, the CII announced that Laura-Jo had won the Alison Ecob Memorial prize, as a result of her performance in completing the Advanced Diploma in Insurance and achieving the highest mark in the Risk Management in Insurance module.
Laura-Jo started her insurance career at Direct Line Group, shortly after graduating from university, and joined ARAG’s BTE Underwriting team as an Underwriting Assistant, in 2011.
Commenting on her promotion, Underwriting Director David Haynes said “Laura-Jo’s success is a real validation, not just of ARAG’s commitment to developing our staff, but also of our strong belief in the importance of CII qualification. The great career she is enjoying at ARAG is a credit to her dedication and hard work and she thoroughly deserves both this promotion and the prize she has been awarded by the CII.”
As BTE Underwriting Manager, Laura-Jo takes on responsibility for the performance of ARAG’s wide range of before-the-event legal expenses insurance and insured assistance products.
ALLIANZ
Allianz Commercial is strengthening the underwriting capacity of its construction business in London. Engineering Construction & Power (EC&P) has appointed Arshad Rashid as regional underwriting manager for London.
In this role, Arshad will drive growth and lead the technical underwriting activity for EC&P in London, as well as monitoring the performance of regional accounts and lines of business. He will also be responsible for training, with a particular focus on growing expertise in construction and fostering new talent within the business.
Arshad has worked for Allianz since 2003 when he joined the graduate scheme. Since then, he has worked in various underwriting roles in commercial lines, most recently as a Property and Casualty Underwriting Manager in Maidstone responsible for the successful delivery of local plans and developing underwriting expertise, as well as building and growing broker relationships.
CONSILIUM
Consilium, the international (re)insurance broker, part of The Aventum Group, has today announced that it has appointed Paul Richards to lead the business as Co-CEO alongside James Baird who was appointed CEO in November.
The duo have been colleagues for 22 years, their careers closely aligned. Paul was latterly Executive Director and a member of Ed’s Executive Committee for nearly three years and before that was Managing Director of Ed Broking’s Professional and Executive Risks division. Prior to that he spent nearly 11 years as the Financial Lines Leader and Executive Director at Willis Towers Watson and 13 years as a Partner at JLT both in the UK and Australia.
This is the latest in a series of senior hires announced by Consilium in the space of a few months including a COO and Head of Claims. In total Consilium has onboarded 14 new starters since the start of 2023.
CONVEX
Convex Group Limited (“Convex”), the international specialty insurer and reinsurer, announces the promotion of Brian Bissett to group chief finance officer (CFO) with immediate effect. Based in London, Bissett will report to Paul Brand, CEO of Convex Group Limited.
As part of a planned transition of roles Benji Meuli will be stepping aside to become Chief Investment Officer (CIO). He will remain on the Board, and will continue to represent the investment function. In his new role, Bissett will be responsible for overseeing the Convex finance function, while retaining responsibility for the data and the actuarial teams.
Bissett joined Convex at its inception in 2019 as Group Chief Actuary. He has more than 30 years of experience in the data and actuarial sector within the re/insurance industry and has held numerous senior positions at Catlin, XL Catlin and Zurich. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
