Comparison Sites to Give Evidence at House of Lords Regulation Committee

The latest update from the HoL Committee currently looking at financial services;

On Wednesday 15 July the House of Lords Financial Services Regulation Committee will hear evidence from two panels of witnesses.

At 10.00am, the committee will hear evidence from:

  • Johnny Timpson OBE, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Financial Services Consumer Panel member.

At 11.00am, the committee will hear evidence from:

  • Mark Bailie, CEO, Compare the Market
  • Steve Dukes, CEO, Confused.com
  • Peter Duffy, CEO, MONY Group PLC (MoneySuperMarket).

These public evidence sessions will be held in Committee Room 3 of the House of Lords and streamed live and on demand on Parliament TV.

These sessions are part of the committee’s inquiry into the regulation of the UK’s consumer insurance market. The aims for these sessions are to find out:

  • How the FCA Financial Services Consumer Panel and Price Comparison Websites respond to concerns over consumer outcomes in the general insurance market;
  • The impact of regulation, including the FCA’s Consumer Duty, on the general insurance market;
  • How consumer outcomes in the general insurance market can be improved.
