Automatic For The People: Bdeo Snapshot 2021

Bdeo, the scaleup specialized in Visual Intelligence that optimizes and automates processes of insurance companies, closed 2021 with 43 clients in its portfolio, 26% more than in 2020. Among its clients are important insurance companies such as: Reale and Mutua Madrileña in Spain, Fidelidade in Portugal, Zurich and BBVA in Latin America, and Hollard in South Africa.

This growth has allowed the company, founded in 2017 by Julio Pernía and Manuel Moreno, to achieve a presence in 3 continents (Europe, the Americas and Africa), and 20 countries, 30% more than a year ago. Bdeo currently has 5 offices and representation in Spain, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

A fast-growing team

2021 was a year of exceptional growth for Bdeo, and the company expanded its workforce by 34%, reaching almost 70 employees. Bdeo aims to continue adding staff to the team as it consolidates its presence in each market.

Technology for home insurance: a bet for the future

Following the successes achieved with its motor solution, the Spanish scaleup’s main short-term objective is further developing services for home insurance and commercial premises. In addition, Bdeo continues to focus on international expansion, with a special focus on European countries where it is not yet present, as well as strengthening its presence in Spain, France, UK, Germany, and Latin America.

Visual Intelligence for the insurance industry

Bdeo’s goal is to transform the insurance industry with a comprehensive Visual Intelligence solution that will evolve the way customers interact with motor and home insurance companies. In this way, it seeks to achieve a fully optimized and digital customer experience, making claims management and policy renewal processes more agile and convenient, as well as reducing fraud associated with the insurance claims process.

Bdeo currently offers its services in two branches of the insurance sector: motor and home insurance. In the motor sector, its SaaS solution facilitates the contracting of insurance and, in the event of a claim, the costs of vehicle damage, as well as estimation of repair costs. The insurtech’s vehicle inspection technology can also be used by fleet management companies, allowing companies to analyze and review the condition of a vehicle when it is returned by the customer.

In the case of home insurance, Bdeo’s optimized Visual Intelligence solution makes it possible to assess water damage in homes. Insurers can estimate the damage quickly, which helps them to reduce costs by up to 70% and the average claim management time from 5 days to 6 minutes. With this technology, insurance holders can send photos and videos of the damage to their insurance company autonomously, guided, and remotely so insurers can identify and verify the possible cause of the loss.
